I am very interested in the Royal Family and I'm curious about this widely held belief that Her Majesty is "going after" Victoria's record...On what date will Victoria's record be broken, and would this make Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth England's longest reigning monarch?How long did Victoria reign and can Elizabeth smash the record?
Other people have give the correct answer already and judging by the way she acts and behaves I reckon Her Majesty could well break Victoria's record. I agree with the comment about her not needing to try to become a record breaker. I actually think she is a decent person. We could do much worse.

She reigned for almost 64 years.

Queen Elizabeth II has so far reigned for 54 years, so i suppose she could beat it but she will be over 90 if she reigns for 64 years.

Victoria was a modern queen who changed the world, her reign was too long, but she was the most influential monarch we've ever had. Lets hope Elizabeth goes this year.

Paul has answered this question. But I don't think the queen has a burning ambition like politicians do to set records. She feels it's a job for life and will stay on as long as she lives.
Victoria reigned from 1837 until January 1901. I doubt very much that the Queen would be interested in breaking Victoria's record, although I hope she outlives her mother. King Charles and Queen Camilla - what a ghastly prospect!!

The Queen Mum last till she was 100, so guess, the Queen Elizabeth could too. Lets hope she out lives Charles!
The record I'd really like to see the current queen takes is as 'last monarch of the United Kingdom'. Support the campaign for an elected Head of State. Just because America only elects idiots, liars or clowns doesn't mean we have to.
